Mastering Gynecologic Exams (DVD)

This DVD demonstrates some of the more subtle methods for mastering pelvic exam procedures.

The "Avoiding Pelvic Exam Errors" videos describes techniques to avoid pelvic exam errors and improve the quality of the exam. Aimed at medical personnel and using actual patients, these skills are emphasized:

-- Make the exam easy for yourself.

-- Don't miss problems on the vulva.

-- Expert use of the speculum.

Shown are patient positioning and lighting techniques, positioning of the stirrups, and a detailed discussion of the use of the vaginal speculum.

The "5-minute Clinical Breast Exam Video using the Vertical Strip Method" demonstrates how to perform a breast exam using this popular technique.

Normal variations are shown, and some of the important abnormal findings, including breast asymmetry, nipple discharge, inverted nipples, skin erythema, infection, trauma, the skin change of peau d'orange, breast lump and breast mass.

The "5-Minute Self Breast Exam Video" demonstrates how to perform a self breast exam, and some of the important findings. Abnormal findings include breast asymmetry, nipple discharge, inverted nipples, breast lump and breast mass. This video is useful for primary training of patients, and for teaching of medical providers so they may teach others.

The DVD is provided in DVD+R format, making it playable on most computers with DVD capability, and on most set-top DVD players manufactured within the last few years. Compatibility with other DVD players is not guaranteed.
